LATEST NEWS:
At the end of April, Orthoplastics says goodbye to a truly exceptional colleague. After 40 years of service, Brian Green retires as our longest-serving employee, leaving behind a legacy that few can match.
Brian joined the company on 28 April 1986 as a Machine Operator. From day one, he brought a strong work ethic and genuine pride in his work. Over the years, that never changed.
He built his career through hands-on experience, moving from the shop floor to the press team, where he played a role in early medical pressing. Later, he stepped into Facilities, where his impact became even more visible across the business.
Over the past forty years, Brian has played a part in almost every major development or project. Whether a big installation or a site upgrade, Brian was always there to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Brian stands out because he’s always dependable. The business could count on him, whether he was answering late-night calls, working weekends or checking the facility during shutdowns. He just did what needed to be done, always showing responsibility and commitment.
Alongside that dedication, Brian has always brought personality to the workplace. He’s well known for his laidback nature, his sense of humour and his ability to lift the mood with a joke or a wind-up. He’s also built a reputation for tracking down snacks and sweet treats across the site, something many colleagues will remember fondly.
Orthoplastics Managing Director Rodney Crooks said: “Brian’s dedication over 40 years has been outstanding. He’s been a constant through change and growth, and his contribution has helped shape the business we are today. He’s someone people trust, someone who gets things done and someone who will be greatly missed.”
As Brian retires, we recognise not just the length of his service, but the difference he’s made. His commitment hasn’t wavered, and his contribution will be felt long after he leaves.
We wish Brian all the very best for a long, happy and well-earned retirement.
