Another Great OMTEC for Orthoplastics

OMTEC was another busy and productive event for the Orthoplastics team, giving us the chance to reconnect with customers, build new relationships and discuss the challenges shaping the orthopaedic industry.

We were pleased to welcome a wide range of visitors to our stand, from existing customers and long-standing partners to organisations discovering Orthoplastics for the first time. Discussions covered everything from implant materials and manufacturing support to compliance, traceability and product development, providing a useful snapshot of where the industry is today.

For us, OMTEC is always about more than what's on display. It's an opportunity to talk openly about the realities of developing and manufacturing orthopaedic devices, and this year there was certainly plenty to discuss.

The challenges being discussed

Many of the discussions centred around a common challenge: how to bring new products to market more quickly while maintaining the quality, consistency and compliance the industry demands.

There was also strong interest in proven implant materials and the role they play in reducing risk throughout the development process. As product requirements continue to evolve, manufacturers want confidence that the materials they choose will deliver reliable performance over the long term.

Material traceability was another topic that came up regularly. As regulatory expectations continue to grow, companies are seeking suppliers that can deliver high-quality materials and the documentation needed throughout the product lifecycle.

Cost pressures were also part of the discussion, with many organisations looking for ways to improve efficiency without compromising quality.

Reflecting on the event, Managing Director John Devine said:

"OMTEC is a great opportunity to spend time with customers and connect with people from across the orthopaedic manufacturing community. We had some excellent discussions throughout the event, both with long-standing customers and companies we were meeting for the first time.

Many of those discussions focused on familiar challenges, including manufacturing consistency, compliance requirements and the pressure to shorten development timelines. There was also a great deal of interest in proven implant materials and the role experienced partners can play in supporting successful product development.

Events like OMTEC are important because they give us the opportunity to listen. Understanding what our customers are facing helps us continue providing the expertise and support they need to bring innovative products to market."
