Orthoplastics Expands Product Range with Two New Medical Grade Polymers
We’re excited to announce the latest additions to our growing medical polymer portfolio – Hostaform® MT®2U06 Acetal and Radel® R-5500 PPSU. These materials have been introduced to provide our global customers with even more choices when it comes to sourcing high-quality, compliant, and reliable materials for medical device manufacturing.

About the New Additions
These two high-performance materials offer enhanced sterilisation resistance, regulatory compliance and design flexibility for a wide range of medical applications.
Hostaform® MT®2U06 Acetal
Designed to meet the needs of customers following the withdrawal of Celcon® M25, this Acetal offers:
- A fixed formulation with full change control
- Certified biocompatibility to USP Class VI and ISO 10993
- FDA Device Master File listing
- Proven compatibility with ETO and steam sterilisation
It is available in a wide range of colours including blue, green, red, grey, yellow, orange, brown,
purple, black and natural.
Lengths are supplied in 1524mm (5ft) with imperial and metric diameters ranging from 25.4mm (1") to 88.9mm (3.5"). Though we have other colours and sizes available on request.
Radel® R-5500 PPSU
Radel® R-5500 offers an ideal metal replacement with:
- Outstanding resistance to sterilisation including steam, ETO, gamma and vaporised hydrogen peroxide
- Excellent mechanical performance even after 1,000+ steam cyclesISO 10993 compliance for limited exposure applications
Initially available in natural, black, blue, and cool grey, full-colour options will follow in 2026. As with Hostaform®, this material is supplied in 1524mm (5ft) lengths with diameters from 25.4mm (1") to 88.9mm (3.5"). Again, other colours and sizes are available on request
